Children are welcome at Ascension. At our Sunday morning service we provide a space in which kids delight in playing with friends. It’s a time where they can discover that they are loved by God, grow up with Jesus and experience the Holy Spirit. We also believe it’s important for children and young people to have time worshipping together with the whole church family after which, they go into their groups.
All our children’s workers are fully DBS checked and vetted to ensure maximum child safety in all our activities.
Babies are welcome to stay in church with their parents/caregivers. When you feel ready, they’re welcome to join our Sparks group in the ALR Room. Sparks is an hour’s session of stories, songs and play run by the Ascension Kids Team and overseen by Caroline Ford. You’re welcome to stay for the first section to help them settle, if needed.
Similar to our Sparks group, those in Year 1-5 are escorted to our School Hall for an hour of games, prayer, stories and craft, run by the Ascension Kids Team and overseen by Isaac Wheeler. Our sessions end at 12pm where the children are escorted back into the main Church hall to be collected.
Our Youth group meets together in the outside cabin by the School hall. They’re escorted there for an hour’s session of hanging out, discussion, and prayer, led by our Ascension Youth Team and overseen by Philip Bull. Our Youth are also escorted back into the main Church hall at 12pm to be collected.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Isaac Wheeler, our Children and Families Worker.
