WHAT TO DO...

STEP 1: Click on the "Book your time slot" button below. Look at all the different ways we’ll be praying over the 24 hours.

STEP 2: Click on the hour prayer slot(s) you want to join in with. To choose more than one press "Add additional ticket". Then click "Proceed" all the way at the bottom of the page to confirm.

STEP 3: Turn up at the time you’ve booked and let’s get praying!

What is it?

Big things are happening in our world right now - whether it's the energy crisis, war, our deteriorating environment, or just having to gear up and get back into work and school after the summer. So we want to pray big at The BIG Pray! And you are invited to join in...

The BIG Pray is a whole non-stop 24 hours of prayer happening at Ascension Church. Starting at 10.30am on Saturday, we'll be inviting people from our church and local community to come and make one long chain of prayers all the way through the day and night until 10.30am on Sunday morning.

The great news is that praying can be fun and we can do it in so many different ways. So The BIG Pray will have something for everyone...

Do you have kids? The BIG Pray will kick off with a morning of Pray and Play at 10.30am, including interactive prayers, games, and fun just for you and your little ones.

Are you an extrovert? Come and shout and sing at one of our worship hours.

Are you an introvert? Join our peaceful evening prayer at Compline at 8.30pm.

Are you a night owl? There are 2.30am and 3.30am slots waiting just for you!

Are you a morning person? Carry the prayer baton towards the finish line as day breaks on Sunday morning.

Do you like coffee? Well, here's more great news: praying can include coffee too! And our community coffee shop Parish Coffee will be open from 10.30am-4.30pm on Saturday.

Still not sure? Here are some FAQs to help you...

  • Yes! From 10.30am-12.30pm it's Pray and Play specifically for children and families. Parish Coffee will be open for coffee, lunch, and snacks, and there'll be plenty of interactive games, craft, and activities for your children.

  • No! Praying can be loud, quiet, or even silent, and you will be free to pray in whatever way is right for you.

  • No! There will always be members of the church team in the church building, who will be responsible for your safety and the building's security.

  • No! The building will be locked and there will be two or more of the church team present throughout the night with oversight of the building.
