Welcome to Ascension Kids

Our mission is to develop kids who feel known and loved by Jesus, through singing, interactive bible stories, games, and, of course, lots of fun - we want church to be the best part of our kids’ week!

Sundays

Ascension Bubble Church

SUNDAYS • 9.30aM

Bubble Church is a Sunday church service especially for babies, toddlers, and young families. It's a puppet-packed, Jesus-centred, 30 minute kids and families adventure every Sunday morning! Please book before each session to let us know you’re coming and then turn up for a pastry and coffee to kick off.

Sparks

SUNDAYS • 10.30aM (during our MORNING service)

Sparks are the wonderful 0-6s at Ascension, who make up a big and vital part of our church family. Sparks meet up together during our 10.30 Sunday service for lots of exciting activities.

Turn up at 10.30 and you’ll be greeted at the door, then grab a pastry and come on over to our kids check in desk where the team will be waiting to say hello! We always start our services with family worship, so bring your dancing shoes. Kids will then go out to Sparks for the best hour of their week.

Blaze

SUNDAYS • 10.30aM (during our MORNING service)

Kids aged 7-11 make up Blaze, and they are in many ways the life and soul of the Ascension party. As well as participating and leading in the wider life of our church, they meet up together during our 10.30 Sunday service to play games, catch up, pray for each other, and get more involved with God. There are always exciting (and slightly crazy) social events coming up for Blaze, so keep your eyes peeled.

Youth Church

SUNDAYS & Mondays during term time

Youth Church is our service for young people of secondary school age. We meet every week to play games, get stuck into the Bible, and pray for each other. We currently have run Older Youth and a Young Youth groups.

Puppet Praise

TUESDAYS DURING TERM TIME • 10.30AM

Puppet Praise is a time for toddlers and their parents or carers to come together, join in with songs, hear stories from the Bible, pray, and of course meet our puppet friends! We are so pleased that this group won the award for Best Community Group at the 2020 UK Nanny Awards!

Thursday Toddlers

THURSDAYS DURING TERM TIME • 9.30AM

Thursday Toddlers happens at Ascension every week during term time. It is a great opportunity for parents and carers to play with their little ones and meet other adults in a fun and friendly environment. Throughout the morning children can enjoy free play while adults drink tea or coffee and have time to chat. Then everyone comes together to sing songs and hear a Bible story.

 

Child Safeguarding

Our team is dedicated to making Ascension a safe and welcoming space. Every one of our team of staff and volunteers are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding. This is to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and flourishing of all the children and young people at Ascension.
