Homeless Night Shelter
In partnership with the charity GlassDoor, we provide a night shelter and hot dinner to the homeless and those in need, during the winter months. We host the service for one night a week, whilst other churches host the other nights.

Crosslight Debt Advice Service
Become a debt adviser. In partnership with the charity Crosslight, we have opened a debt advice service! Offering free, open-ended, holistic debt advice coupled with money education and budgeting support to equip our clients for the future.

Refugee Drop-In
Help us with our weekly, Wednesday morning drop-in service for local refugees. Can you cut hair? Can you teach English? Can you play with kids? We are looking for volunteers to help us help and support those who have recently entered the UK and are in need.

Help with the Elderly
We run an informal coffee club on Fridays during term time, 10.30am-12. Many older folk join in with this group, and we’d love some more volunteers to come and support, and be a listening ear for them during this hour and a half.

Become a Barista at Parish Coffee
Become a barista today! Parish Coffee is our community café located within our church. Whether you’re a student and looking for work experience, retired and want to give something back to your local community or are anywhere in between we’d love to have you join our team at Parish Coffee. Experience is not required for this role, just friendly individuals who love people.
Parish Foodbank
Give to our foodbank. Ascension church is now a drop-off point for people’s foodbank donations, open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
Come and drop off food throughout the week and we will make sure it reaches those most in need in our community.
Employment Mentor
Become an employment mentor. Ascension is running a Re-Work course, a free programme to refresh professional skills, build networks and give people the mindset and confidence they need to re-enter the workplace.

You collected over 550 coats for the homeless!
Last winter we took part in the WrapUp London campaign and put out a call for your old coats to be donated to charity.
We were so thrilled with response and were able to give over 550 coats to keep those in need warm over the winter.
